Superlooper

Superlooper was a title which first appeared in "Bus World Magazine" in 1983. The title was used to describe a record setting marathon bus trip circling the continental United States. Charles White of Los Angeles, California set a record for circling the continental United States in ten days non-stop using Trailways buses. White began his journey in Fresno, California continuing to Los Angeles, San Diego, El Paso, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Miami, Raleigh, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Albany, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento and returning to Fresno. The Canadian portion of Whites' trip was taken on Greyhound Lines of Canada due to Trailways not serving Canada other than Vancouver to Seattle. During the summer of 1983, White set another record by traveling to all 48 continental states by bus in just sixteen days covering just over 15,000 miles. Complete articles covering both record setting trips were featured in Bus World Magazine as well as various newspaper articles most notable being Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Mew York, Seattle and Fresno. White was only eighteen years old at this time and later formed his own bus operation, Mountain Stage Lines. To this date, White has traded the bus business for the railroad where he has become both a Trainman and a Labor Leader. His bus traveling records still stand.
