We Want It All

"We Want It All" is one of only two songs the Rage Against the Machine vocalist Zack de la Rocha released while the band was disbanded. Out of the twenty or so tracks which Zack and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails collaborated on, this is the only track of those sessions which has been released. The song was produced by Trent and was recorded at Nothing Studio in New Orleans in 2003. It was mixed by David Bianco at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and mastered by Steve Marcussen.

The song appears on the 2004 compilation album Songs and Artists that Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11. Zack said of his song appearing on the soundtrack;

"Michael's film continues to deepen the discussion at a time when the big lie and the even bigger bombs threaten the hope of creating real democracy in the world. I hope my song and this record keep that discussion going." - Zack de la Rocha

Michael Moore praised Zack on the official Epic Records press release;

"Zack, the lead singer of the greatest rock band of the '90s, Rage Against the Machine, is, in person, the most gentle of souls you will ever meet. But when he gets in the studio or on the stage, a fire erupts that consumes all who listen. This is his first song in five years and it's a barn burner! Welcome back, Zack, we need ya now more than ever..." - Michael Moore

In the liner notes of the soundtrack, it is worth noting that the song is © 2004 Word War Publishing (BMI), citing among fans that Zack may have left his long time label, Epic Records. A video was also announced in the press release, however it never surfaced.
