Brains (born James Davis[1] or James de Shannon,[2] May 24, 1974) is a rapper from Cleveland, Ohio. Michael Bivins signed Brains to Motown Records, who issued his first LP in 1992. As a crossover artist following MC Hammer, Brains hit the charts with three singles that year. He released another album in 1996 entitled Brainwashed through Ichiban Records.[3]
