He has served the GSB as dean since July 2001 and was reappointed to a second term beginning in July 2006 in July 2005. Professor ofEconomics at the GSB. He also holds the title of Editor of theThe Journal of Law and Economics . During his tenure as dean, the Graduate School of Business moved its flagship Hyde Parkcampus to theCharles M. Harper Center (formerly the Hyde Park Center). Also, the Europe campus moved fromBarcelona toLondon . Snyder received hisPh.D. in economics in 1984 and his M.A. inpublic policy in 1978 from the University of Chicago. He was previously the John M. Olin Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Chicago's George J. After a professional start as an economist with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, Snyder worked for sixteen years at the University of Michigan Business School. He served as a faculty member and later as Senior Associate Dean. He was also the first director of the Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan, which studies emerging markets. Snyder was also the Dean and Charles C.
