Nikita Morgunov Personal information Born June 29, 1975 Medal recordMen’s Basketball Competitor for Russia World Championship Silver 1998 Athens Russia European Championships Gold 2007 Spain Russia Nikita Leonidovich Morgunov (Cyrillic: Никита Леонидович Моргунов) (born June 29, 1975 in Novokuznetsk, Russia, Soviet Union) is a Russian professional basketball player. He plays both the power forward and center positions. He is 2.11 m (6'11") in height and he weighs 125 kg (276 pounds). As of summer 2008, he plays for Lokomotiv Rostov of the Russian Super League.
Morgunov is also a member of the Russia national team that won the EuroBasket 2007, played for it at the 2000 Olympics and won a silver medal at the 1998 FIBA World Championship.
In the past, Morgunov has played for CSKA Moscow (1995–97, 2000–02), Atletas Kaunas in Lithuania (1997–99), Avtodor Saratov (2002), Dynamo Moscow (2002–03), Dinamo Moscow Region (2004–2007) and Khimki BC (2007–2008) in Russia and Makedonikos Kozani in Greece (2003–04). He has been under contract with the NBA team Portland Trail Blazers for three separate periods (January 26 - April 24, 1999; October 7, 1999 - April 14, 2000 and October 11–28, 2000), but has not played in any regular season NBA games for the team.
