According to the2006 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 2304 inhabitants.Aldeanueva the la Vera is situated in theSierra de Gredos and has nice mountain creeks as Garganta los Gauchos and Garganta San Georgio. It produces tobacco, figs, cherries, red pepper powder ("pimenton la casareña") and a regional wine "pitarra". It is in the middle of an important tourist area,La Vera .
