Spain . According to the2007 census (INE), the city has a population of 1168 inhabitants.It was formed by the union in
1971 ofMecina Bombarón andYegen , and is situted in the central-northern area of LaAlpujarra (Granada), 108km from the provincial capital, in the south-east ofSpain . It is bounded by the municipalities ofLanteira ,Válor ,Ugíjar ,Cádiar andBérchules .Its council was formed from the centres of
Mecina Bombarón ,Yegen andGolco , together with the cortijada (hamlet/farmstead) ofMontenegro, Spain . All the centres of population in the municipality are oriented towards the south, looking towards the sea as they come out of their balconies, separated one from the other by slopes full of vegetation.
