- Wendell L. Roelofs
Wendell L. Roelofs (born
1938 ) was the first researcher to characterize insect sexpheromone structures, developing microchemical techniques for the isolation and identification of pheromone components. Roelofs obtained his B.S. inchemistry in1960 fromCentral College inPella, Iowa and his Ph.D. inorganic chemistry from Indiana University in1964 . Currently he is theLiberty Hyde Bailey Professor of Insect Biochemistry at the Department ofEntomology atCornell University inGeneva, New York . Roelofs receivedNational Medal of Science in1983 .References
