Brittney "Britt" Irvin (born November 10, 1984 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) is a Canadian actress and singer. She is sometimes credited as Brittney Irvin, especially in works between 1996 and 2001.

Some of her fans have noted that she has significant physical resemblances to Diane Keaton, Goldie Hawn, Ariana Richards, and Loni Anderson. She is of distant relation to former CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather and current Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm.

Early life

She was born in Vancouver and grew up in Surrey, British Columbia, though she occasionally lived in Toronto while working on film and television projects there. She began dancing ballet and singing in festvals starting around 1990 when she was 6 years old. She worked on two musicals at age 10, "Show Boat" and "A Christmas Carol", did voice work in the television series "Nilus the Sandman", and did work in several television commercials between productions, many of which aired in the United States as well as Canada.

Career

In 1996, Irvin appeared in the films "Panic in the Skies!" and "Angel of Pennsylvania Avenue". In 1998 she appeared in the TV series "Little Men" on Canada's CTV network, which lasted two seasons. Between 1998 and 2000 Irvin also played guest roles on "Sleepwalkers", "Night Man", and "The Outer Limits". In 2000 she played Laurel Everett in the TV movie "Angels in the Infield" which also starred Patrick Warburton and David Alan Grier

In 2000 Irvin acted in "So Weird". In 2002 Irvin played a red-wine-loving kleptomaniac named Amy in the MTV movie "Wasted" and played a role in "The Outer Limits" again in 2003, the same year she appeared in "National Lampoon's Holiday Reunion" with Judge Reinhold and Penelope Ann Miller. Also, in 2003, she portrayed the late Dana Plato in the NBC TV movie .

Recent works have included the 2005 film Reefer Madness (2005 film) which is based on the 2003 musical, (though she only appeared in one scene), the 2005 TV movie [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451998/ Absolute Zero] with Jeff Fahey and Erika Eleniak, the 2007 film "Hot Rod" starring Andy Samberg, and her recent appearance playing the love interest of Kevin Zegers' character in Normal, which was also released in 2007.

Irvin is also an accomplished singer and voice-over artist. Her voice-over credits include TV series; Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Madeline, Bratz and in the English-language version of Inuyasha). She was also the voice of X23 in the third and fourth seasons of ; the character later crossed over to the X-Men comic titles where she's headlined her own limited series and currently features in the X-Force title.

She was nominated for a Leo Award in 2008 for her performance in Normal.

It has been widely speculated that she is also the current voice behind several recent radio commercials for Wendy's that currently air in the United States and Canada.

Her next film appearances will be in the films "Bratz Girlz Really Rock" and [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1087872/ The Timekeeper (2009 film)] . Fact|date=December 2007, whose cast also includes Julian Richings from the 1998 film Urban Legend and Gary Farmer from the 1990's Canadian television show Forever Knight.

Irvin also currently provides the voice for the character Ursula in the George of the Jungle (2007 TV series) cartoon series which currently airs on the Cartoon Network, making her the only person ever to voice a cartoon character in a series remake, where the character had originally been voiced by June Foray in the original. Foray had originally voiced the character Ursula in the original George of the Jungle series from the 1960s - though the character is significantly different in the 2007 series than in the 1967 series. June Foray recently voiced a scout leader in a recent episode of the 2007 series.

She is sometimes credited by her full first name, as Brittney Irvin, especially in earlier works prior to 2001, such as Little Men (TV series) and Angels in the Infield, as well as in one episode of Aliens in America in 2007, which is believed to have occurred due to a titling error, as she has otherwise only been credited as Britt Irvin in all of her work since 2002.

Recently it has been rumored that she might be involved with the soundtrack for Making Change (film) starring Steve Guttenberg. Some songs which contain a singing voice very similar to her own have surfaced on MySpace, with claims that they are for the film.

It has recently been announced that she will be joining the cast of Entourage as a recurring (but not necessarily permanent) character for the 2008-09 season.

Personal life

She is good friends with Alexz Johnson, another singer-actor from the Vancouver area. They have appeared in So Weird and Reefer Madness (2005 film) together. They were also both nominated for Leo Awards in 2008.

She has one younger brother named Craig.
