National Dairy Products Corporation

National Dairy Products Corporation was a company founded by Thomas McInnerney on 10 December 1923 through a merger of Reick-McJunkin Dairy Company of Pittsburgh and the Hydrox Corporation of Chicago. ["Cow", "Time Magazine", 7 December 1925] ["Dairy Combine Announced", "New York Times" 11 December 1923, page 33] It grew through a series of acquisition of dairy products companies, including the 1926 purchase of the Breyer Ice Cream Company of Philadelphia ["Dairy Company Gets Four New Concerns", "New York Times", 16 June 1926] and the 1928 purchase of Breakstone Brothers Inc. ["Breakstone Sold to National Dairy", "New York Times", 12 April 1926] In 1929, it purchased the Kraft-Phenix Cheese Corporation ["Big Merger Voted in Dairy Products", "New York Times", 18 April 1930] and it changed its name to Kraftco Corporation in 1969.
