International Society on Multi-criteria Decision Making

The International Society on Multi-criteria Decision Making is a professional association of persons interested in the means by which concerns about multiple conflicting criteria can be formally incorporated into the management planning process.

The purposes of the Society are to develop, test, evaluate and apply methodologies for solving multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problems, to foster interaction and research in the scientific field of MCDM, to help managers and others solve MCDM problems, and to cooperate with other organizations in the study of management from a quantitative perspective.

Every two years, the Society sponsors an international conferences. Since 1992, it has honored distinguished individuals the Gold Medal; the Edgeworth-Pareto Award; and the Georg Cantor Award.

Any interested and professionally qualified person can apply for membership. In 2007, the Society had members in 87 countries.
