"Something for Nothing" is the sixth and final song from Rush's fourth album "2112". It is written by Geddy Lee with lyrics by Neil Peart. Peart was inspired to write this song when Rush was on their way to a show in Los Angeles and he noticed graffiti spattered across a wall: "Freedom isn't free". He adapted this into the song.
