- San Diego Flash
The San Diego Flash was a professional men's
soccer team, based inSan Diego, California , that played in the A-League between 1998 and 2001 and was founded by its original President Yan Skwara and its General Manager was Sam Kaloustian. Costa Skouras was the clubs second year coach and was replaced by Papo Santos the following year. The club averaged aprroximetelty 2500 fans per game and played it home games at Southwest College and Mesa College. The largest crowds for a Flash match was at Mesa College for a standing room only crowd of 6500 for a US Open Cup match against Major League Soccer's LA Galaxy, in front of an overflow crowd and womens US Soccer's Shannon MacMillan Day. Players that played for the Flash and then went on to play inMajor League Soccer include Joe Cannon,Jimmy Conrad , andThiago Martins .In its final year,
