Giacomo Biffi (born in
Milan onJune 13 ,1928 ). Appointed anauxiliary bishop there in 1975, in 1984 the sudden death ofEnrico Manfredini ofBologna opened the way for Biffi to become Archbishop there, and he was elevated to Cardinal-Priest of "Ss.
