A960 "Godetia" is a command and logistical support ship of the Belgian Naval Component, launched on
December 7 ,1965 at the Boelwerf inTemse , and christened by Mrs. Moyersoen. The patronage of the A960 "Godetia" was accepted by the city ofOstend . It was the first of two support ships.The A960 "Godetia" is currently commanded by
Corvette Captain Luc van den Steen, who took over on2 February 2008 from Corvette Captain Philippe Plumier. [cite web

The A960 "Godetia" is the successor of the K226 HMS "Godetia", a Flower class
corvette which was manned by Belgian sailors during Second World War.Missions
The A960 "Godetia" has three missions: fishery protection, acting as a support and supply ship for minesweepers and acting as a command ship for mine countermeasure operations.
