Polish requires 18 additional characters beyond plain ASCII.Many ways have been used to encode those characters, today the most popular ones are ISO 8859-2, Windows-1250 and Unicode. Other encodings shown below are rapidly becoming extinct (Mazovia, IBM 852), have already become extinct (Mac, CSK and encodings below it) or have never been widely used to encode Polish (ISO 8859-13, ISO 8859-16, Windows-1257 and IBM 775). Numbers in the table are hexadecimal.
