Lorenzo Zambrano

Lorenzo H. Zambrano Treviño (b. 1945 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon) is a Mexican businessman. He is the chairman and CEO of CEMEX, one of the largest cement companies in the world.

Zambrano was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León into an upper-class family. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies (ITESM) in 1966 and an MBA from Stanford Business School in 1968.

In 1968 he joined CEMEX, a cement company founded by his grandfather in 1906. In 1985 he became its chief executive officer. He is a member of the board of directors of IBM, of the international consultive councils of Citigroup and Allianz, and of the administrative boards of Fomento Económico Mexicano, the construction company ICA, Alfa, Grupo Financiero Banamex, glass manufacturer Vitro, Grupo Televisa, the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey. Until 2005, he was a member of the Chairman’s Council of Daimler Chrysler AG, and until January, 2006, he formed part of the Stanford University's Graduate School of Business Advisory Council .

Zambrano and family ranked 428 in Forbes Magazine "World's Richest People" list for 2005 with an estimated fortune of 1.8 billion dollars.

Lorenzo has the biggest Ferrari collection in the World and he has been one of the best in the Palm Beach Concorzo d'Eleganza and Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
