The Nail (fairy tale)

The Nail (fairy tale)

The Nail is Tale 184 from Grimm's Fairy Tales

Synopsis

A merchant had done wonderful business at the fair. He put all his earning on the horse and planned to go home before sunset. While he was taking a break on his way, someone pointed out to him that one nail on his horse's shoe was missing. The merchant thought that it would be fine since he was almost home. He ignored it and kept on going. The horse started dragging its leg, then it stumbled, and finally, it broke its leg. The merchant left the horse and walked back home. By the time he arrived, it was already late at night.

The harder you push it, the slower it goes.
