CT Communications

CT Communications (CTC) was a telecommunications company located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. CTC provided landline phone service, Internet access, cellular phone service and a wide range of business services.

The company began in 1897 as the Concord Telephone Company. L.D. Coltrane is credited with being its primary founder. CTC was the incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC) in Cabarrus, Stanly, and Rowan counties, North Carolina. It served over 120,000 access lines in this area. CTC also provided CLEC services to business and residential customers located throughout North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, CTC employed over 600 individuals.

On August 31, 2007, Windstream Communications acquired the company for $585 million.
