Andres Guibert (born
October 28 ,1968 inHavana ,Cuba ) is a retired Cuban basketball player. In 1993 he defected from the Cuban delegation at the Centroamerican Games being held in Ponce, Puerto Rico.He subsequently played in the NBA for the
Minnesota Timberwolves (1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons, 22 games, 9.1 MPG, 2.7 PPG, 2.8 RPG). In September 2008 Guibert became a naturalized United States citizen following the taking of his oath by federal judge
