Nature 421:807-814 (20 February 2003)] (late Aptian-early Albian) and is known fromfossil s found in theJiufotang Formation ofLiaoning province,People's Republic of China . Boluochia was first described by Zhou in 1995 [Zhou, 1995. "Discovery of a New Enantiornithine Bird from the Cretaceous of Liaoning, China". PalAsiatica 33(2):99-113] . Some consider it a relative of "Cathayornis " (also known as "Sinornis") and "Eocathayornis ", but this is not universally accepted.References
