- Thomas Hines (architectural historian)
Thomas S. Hines is a notable professor emeritus of history and architecture at the
University of California, Los Angeles , where he taught cultural, urban and architectural history for many years.Hines received hiis Ph.D. at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1971.Hines is the author of "Burnham of Chicago: Architect and Planner", "Richard Neutra and the Search for Modern Architecture", "William Faulkner and the Tangible Past: The Architecture of Yoknapatawpha", and "Irving Gill and the Architecture of Reform", as well as numerous articles in a wide variety of periodicals.
Hines was elected to the
American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1994.Books
