Hélio Cunha

Hélio Domingues da Cunha is a Portuguese artist. He was born in Lisbon, and studied in England from 1978. In the 1980s he studied with sculptor Soares Branco. He has been member of Viragem Art Gallery in Cascais, and Fine Arts Activities Centre Árvore in Porto. He is a member of Lisbon Society of Fine Arts (SNBA) and the Bual Cultural Circle in the city of Amadora. Since 1982 he has had 28 solo exhibitions, and participated in around 100 group exhibitions. His work is held by several museums, including the Chiado Museum, Lisbon, the Navy Museum, Belém, Lisbon, Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum, Cascais, Vila Real Museum, Trás-os-Montes; Sabugal Museum of Contemporary Art; Sintra district Museum, Soares Branco Museum and workhouse, Mafra, Walsall Metropolitan Museum, England, Luanda National Museum of Culture, Angola; Recife State Museum, Brazil, and the Macau Art Museum, Macau, China.
