United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 1.2square mile s (3.0km² ), of which, 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (7.69%) is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2004, there were 1,009 people, 441 households, and 258 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 939.4 people per square mile (361.8/km²). There were 573 housing units at an average density of 531.9/sq mi (204.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.01% White, 0.10% African American, 0.40% Asian, 0.49% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.59% of the population.There were 441 households out of which 22.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.1% were married couples living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.3% were non-families. 37.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.87.
In the city the population was spread out with 20.7% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 21.9% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 27.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 87.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.7 males.
