Athabasca Falls in
Jasper National Park is just 23metres high. However, it is not known for its height. Instead it is known for the force of the falling water due to the quantity of water flowing. Even on a cold morning in the fall, copious amounts of water flow over the falls. A layer of hardquartzite has allowed the falls to cut into the softerlimestone below carving the short gorge and a number of potholes. White water rafting often starts below the falls to travel downstream on theAthabasca River toJasper, Alberta .It is a class 5
waterfall , with a drop of ft to m|80|abbr=yes|wiki=yes and a width of ft to m|60|abbr=yes. [Cite web| url= http://www.waterfallsnorthwest.com/bc_waterfall.php?num=641&p=0 | title= Athabasca Falls| author= Waterfalls of the Pacific Northwest| accessdate= 2007-06-27]Photo gallery
