Israeli settlement located at an elevation of 200 metres north-east ofRosh HaAyin and one kilometre east of the Green Line nearElkana in the westernSamaria n section of theWest Bank . Founded in 1983 through a government decision, the first residents moved to the new village in April 1983. Its current population is now about 4,500 people in about 1,200 families. The village is run by a local committee under the umbrella municipal jurisdiction of theShomron Regional Council . The head of that committee is Gideon Idan.Population
The residents of Sha'arei Tikva are a mix of religious and non-religious people. The village is a dormitory community with most employed people working elsewhere.
