Mehboob Ki Mehndi is a 1971 Hindi movie produced and directed by H S Rawail. The film stars Rajesh Khanna, Leena Chandavarkar, Pradeep Kumar and Iftekhar. The films music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal with lyrics by Anand Bakshi.

Plot

Bollywood romantic movie, Mehboob Ki Mehndi, directed by Harnam Singh Rawail was released in the year 1971. The movie starred Rajesh Khanna and Leena Chandavarkar in lead roles while Pradeep Kumar, Iftekhar, Sunder, Jagdish Raj, Gurnam Singh, Mumtaz begum, Sudhir and Rafiya Sultan also played significant characters in the film. The music of the film was directed by the veteran music director Laxmikant-Pyarelal while the songs were beautifully sung by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Hemlata etc. The movie was a huge box office hit of that year and won rave reviews from the audience.

The movie starts with a young and handsome guy named Yusuf ( Rajesh Khanna ), who is the son of a wealthy businessman named Nawab Safdarjung ( Iftekhar ). Nawab Safdarjung is physically handicapped person and is confined to a wheel chair. Yusuf’s nephew's tutor leaves his job.Yusuf arranges a new tutor named Shabana ( Leena Chandavarkar ) for his nephew. Shabana comes to live with them along with her grandmother. He also appoints a person named Khairuddin ( Pradeep Kumar ) for taking care of his father however, Khairuddin has arrived there only with the intention of killing Nawab Safdarjung.

Shabana and Yusuf starts developing feeling for each other and soon learn that they arein love with each other. Nawab Safdarjung and Shabana's grandmother are also happy with the relationship of Yusuf and Shabana and they start arranging for the marriage of Yusuf and Shabana, but just before their marriage it is revelaed that Shabana is actually the daughter of a courtesan named Najma.
