The Tankerville Club

The Tankerville Club

The Tankerville Club is a fictional gentleman's club created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and featured in two Sherlock Holmes stories, "The Adventure of the Empty House" and "The Five Orange Pips".

ome Members

* Colonel Sebastian Moran
* Major Prendergast

The club is first mentioned in "The Five Orange Pips", when John Openshaw introduces himself to Sherlock Holmes, saying that he'd heard of Holmes from Major Prendergast, who Holmes had saved from the "Tankerville Club scandal". Holmes then recalls that Major Prendergast was wrongfully accused of cheating at cards at that club.

The second time the club is mentioned is in "The Adventure of the Empty House", where the villain of the story, Colonel Moran, is mentioned to have memberships in three clubs, the Tankerville being one of them.
