- Yoni Ben-Menachem
Yoni Ben-Meanchem (born 1957) is an Israeli journalist, since 2003 appointed General Director & Chief Editor of Israel Radio-KOL Israel.
Ben-Menachem was born and raised in Jerusalem served in the Intelligence Unit in the IDF and released with the rank of Captain. After his release Yoni pursued his studies at the Hebrew University gaining a first Degree in Arabic Language and Literature & his second Degree in EAST ASIAN STUDIES. Finishing a course for Correspondents at the Israel Broadcasting Authority in 1983 following which he fulfilled several journalistic missions amongst which were correspondent for West Bank & Gaza Affairs for Israel Channel One and Kol Israel.Yoni was commissioned by the IBA as their correspondent to Tunis in 1993 and was the first Israeli Journalist to interview Yasser Arafat before the signing of the Oslo Accords. Within those period Yoni Produced & Directed 15 documentary films on Political Affairs within the Palestinian Society and its approach to Israel, all which were broadcast on Israeli TV. For a period of 8 years Yoni served as the political Correspondent - Analyst for Kol Israel & amongst his coverings was the Palestinian – Israeli relations and the negotiations with Syria (Wye River talks, Camp David Talks, Shepherdstown Talks and others).Ben-Menachem acquired Managerial Studies as a Graduate of the Israeli Managements Center which included Courses in CEO Finances, Directors Courses, Projects Managing Courses, Advanced Marketing, Tenders, Investments and Financial Managements & other Finances Studies. In 2003 Yoni Ben-Menachem won the post of General Director & Chief Editor of Israel Radio Kol Israel in a tender of the IBA. Ben-Menachem is also a member of the Committee of Editors of the Israeli media in Israel, an Acknowledged Mediator by the Ministry of Justice, and Fellow Researcher at the Institute for Anti-Terrorism Studies at the Interdisciplinary Centre in Herzliya.
