Salawat Yulayev ( _ba. Салауат Юлаев; _ru. Салават Юлаев; 16 June 1754, Tekeevo, Shaitan-Kudeevskaya volost, Ufimskaya provintsiya, Orenburg guberniya, Russia26 September 1800, Paldiski) is a Bashkir national hero who participated at Pugachev's rebellion.Salawat Yulayev was born in the village of Tekeyevo of Shaytan-Kudeevsky volost of Ufa province of Orenburg Governorate(now Salavatsky District of the Republic of Bashkortostan). Tekeyevo no longer exists, because it was burned in 1775. Yulayev is also famous as a poet.

Many things in modern-day Bashkortostan are named after Yulayev including a town, a hockey team, and the republic's State Prize.
