Hemet Maze Stone

Hemet Maze Stone

The Hemet Maze Stone is a prehistoric petroglyph. It is located in Reinhardt Canyon, within the Lakeview Mountains, in Riverside County, California. On April 16, 1956, it was donated, along with 5.75 acres of land, to Riverside County, by Mr. and Mrs. Rodger E. Miller. It is California Historical Landmark No.557.

Directions

The maze stone is located just outside Hemet. On route 74 through Hemet (Florida Ave), head west, pass Warren and turn right (north) on California Ave. Follow the road as it curves around and ends at an unmarked gate. There is room to park there. The road continues beyond the gate and the stone is a five minute walk up a little hill. There are two chain link fences around the stone so it is hard to get a close look at it but the petroglyph is very well preserved.
