HMS "Cosby" was a "Buckley" class
Captain class frigate duringWorld War II , it was named after Captain Philip Cosby (1727-1808) of HMS|Robust|1764|6 during theAmerican Revolutionary War .Originally destined for the US Navy HMS "Cosby" was provisionally given the name USS "Reeves" (later this name was reassigned to DE 156) however the delivery was diverted to the
Royal Navy before the launch. The Commanding Officers of HMS "Cosby" were Lt Cdr R.S.Connell RN December 1943 and Lt I.Pepperell RN August 1944.General Information
