- Ngn enabled
NGN Enabled is a telecom standard that stands for Next Generation Network Enabled technology.
NGN technology has implied a consolidation of several (dedicated or overlay) transport networks each historically built for a different service into one core transport network. It implies amongst others the migration of voice from a switched architecture (PSTN ) toVoIP , migration of legacy services (X.25 ,Frame Relay , ATM) to IP, and many other technical and commercial evolution. In order to ease the communication with respective parties (Network Equipment Vendors, operator, enterprises, Independent Software Vendors,...), NGN Enabled logo guarantees that the products respectively labeled are able to process data from Next Generation Networks technology. This quality standard is used for Operational Support Software (OSS) products used in the telecommunication environments in the following fields:
- Surveillance & Monitoring platforms
- Performance Management systems
- Revenue Assurance systems are allowed to use this label.
These sectors are defined by the TeleManagement Forum association, and are related to software and hardware technologies.
