Eddie Carnett

Edwin Elliott Carnett [Lefty] (born October 21, 1916) is a former left fielder in Major League Baseball who played for three different teams between 1941 and 1945. Listed at 6' 0", 185 lb., he batted and threw left-handed. He was born in Springfield, Missouri. Carnett entered in the majors in 1941 with the Boston Braves, playing for them two games before joining the US Navy during World War II (1942-43). After dircharge, he played for the Chicago White Sox (1944) and Cleveland Indians (1945). In a three-season career, Carnett posted a 3.40 ERA with four strikeouts, three walks, and 5 ⅓ innings in six pitching appearances. He did not have a decision.

As of 2007, Carnett (age|1916|10|21) is recognized as one of the oldest living major league ballplayers.
