- Dornier Viper
-
The Dornier Viper was an West German air-to-air missile project, intended to replace the AIM-9 Sidewinder in Luftwaffe service.
The Viper was developed by Bodenseewerk, using an infrared seeker and solid fuel rocket motor (developed jointly by Germany and Norway). Compared against the AIM-9L, its performance was insufficiently superior and in 1974, Viper was abandoned in favor of it.[1]
