- List of Fist of the North Star episodes
The following is a list of episodes from the Japanese animated television series nihongo|"Fist of the North Star"|北斗の拳|Hokuto no Ken, adapted from the manga series of the same name by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara. The "Fist of the North Star" series was produced by Toei Animation and originally aired on Fuji TV from 11 October 1984 to 18 February 1988. The show was given the subtitle of nihongo|"Legend of the Century's End Savior"|世紀末救世主伝説|Seikimatsu Kyūseishu Densetsu from episode 23 and onward. The show changed its title to "Hokuto no Ken 2" from episode 110 and onward to reflect the timeskip in the story.
The complete series was released in Japan on DVD in a box set containing all 152 episodes, as well as 26 individual volumes containing five to six episodes per disc). Prior to the DVD release of the series, Toei Video released three hour-long recap episodes on VHS composed entirely of re-edited footage from the series.
The first 36 episodes of the series were licensed to Manga Entertainment and released in dubbed and subtitled format in 1999. The English dubbed version featured voice acting by Animaze and an original soundtrack composed by Mike Egan. The VHS release of the English version only went to episode 24, while all 36 episodes were released on DVD. In 2008, a few years after Manga Entertainent's license of the series has expired, Toei began releasing subtitled episodes of the series via IGN.com's Direct2Drive service. As of September 2008, 70 episodes had been released.
The titles from episode 1-36 are the official English translations provided in the Manga Entertainment release of the series, which are close translations of the Japanese titles. The titles from episode 37 and onward are approximate translations of the original Japanese titles.
