Justin LeighPluto was a Canadian
alternative rock band, active from 1993 to 1999. Based inVancouver ,British Columbia , the band consisted of vocalist and guitarist Ian Jones, guitarist Rolf Hetherington, bassist John Ounpuu and drummer Justin Leigh.After independently releasing a number of singles, the band released its debut album in 1995 on
Mint Records , followed by a four-song EP in 1996. They subsequently signed toVirgin Records , for whom they released two full-length albums. They were nominated for Best New Group at theJuno Awards of 1997 .Their single "Paste" appeared on the first "
Big Shiny Tunes " compilation. A live performance of their song "Failure", recorded on CBC Stereo's "Nightlines " in 1994, was also released in 2006 on the compilation album "Mint Records Presents the CBC Radio 3 Sessions ".With the band's music no longer widely available in stores, they have made both of their Virgin Records albums available as free downloads from their
