Pluto was a Canadian alternative rock band, active from 1993 to 1999. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, the band consisted of vocalist and guitarist Ian Jones, guitarist Rolf Hetherington, bassist John Ounpuu and drummer Justin Leigh.

After independently releasing a number of singles, the band released its debut album in 1995 on Mint Records, followed by a four-song EP in 1996. They subsequently signed to Virgin Records, for whom they released two full-length albums. They were nominated for Best New Group at the Juno Awards of 1997.

Their single "Paste" appeared on the first "Big Shiny Tunes" compilation. A live performance of their song "Failure", recorded on CBC Stereo's "Nightlines" in 1994, was also released in 2006 on the compilation album "Mint Records Presents the CBC Radio 3 Sessions".

With the band's music no longer widely available in stores, they have made both of their Virgin Records albums available as free downloads from their Myspace profile.
