Jason Spafford

Jason Albert Spafford (born Sept. 27, 1964) is an American film director, writer, and producer. He was also the co-founder of a DVD production company, DVDTransfer.com, llc.

Spafford was born in Rhinelander, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin -Madison, receiving a BA in Communication Arts and Political Science. He currently resides in Minneapolis, MN with his wife Cynthia Berger, daughter, and son.

Between 1994 and 1997 he directed several short films, including "Walking with Van Gogh" and wrote the screenplays "Francine's Murder" and "The Race".

In 1997 he produced, directed and co-wrote the feature film, "Butler Minnesota". In 1998, he and wife Cynthia Berger travelled down the Mississippi River via houseboat and screened the film along the way in river towns.

Beginning in 2000 Spafford has worked as producer and director on a series of short films with artist Chris Larson (represented by Magnus Muller Gallerie in Berlin).

In 2007 Spafford published (LPS Publishing) a book of poetry titled, "Car Sick from Circus Peanuts (poems of glee and woe)" and is scheduled to publish another book of poetry titled "Wanna be a Rock Star, Can't Play a Guitar (poems of truth and distortion)", in 2008.
