The Presbyterian Reformed Church was founded in Ontario, Canada on November 17th, 1965. [ [http://presbyterianreformed.org/ourhistory.php "Presbyterian Reformed Church - History"] ] The churches continue historic Scottish Presbyterian orthodoxy in doctrine, worship, government and discipline, on the basis of a conviction that these principles and practices are founded upon and agreeable to the Word of God.

The Presbyterian Reformed Church believes the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the infallible Word of God. The office-bearers adopt the unrevised Westminster Confession of Faith, the Westminster Larger Catechism and the Westminster Shorter Catechism as standards subordinate to the Bible. The office-bearers also accept the Westminster Directory of Public Worship as a scriptural and suitable guide in the conduct of public worship. [ [http://presbyterianreformed.org/basisofunion.htm "Presbyterian Reformed Church - Basis of Union"] ] Therefore, only psalms are sung in public worship and without musical accompaniment. The Scottish Metrical Psalter of 1650 is solely used in the public singing of psalms and the Authorized King James Version of the Bible is solely used in the public reading of the Word [ [http://presbyterianreformed.org/government2.htm "Presbyterian Reformed Church - The Ordinances of Worship in a Particular Congregation"] ] for the sake of uniformity but the King-James-Only Movement is not endorsed. The Presbyterian Reformed Church accepts the doctrine of common grace as a biblical doctrine.

The origins of the Presbyterian Reformed Church are related to the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland [ [http://presbyterianreformed.org/ourhistory.php "Presbyterian Reformed Church - History"] ] , though its only congregation in the United Kingdom is in Stockton-on-Tees. As of May, 2007, there are five congregations in the United States, one in Canada, and the aforementioned British congregation.
