- Liz Phillips
Liz Phillips (b.1951) is an American artist specializing in
sound art andinteractive art . She was one of the first artists to makeinteractive sound sculpture . Her installations create sounds in relation to live forms. Phillips has exhibited her work at numerous art museums, alternative spaces, festivals, and public spaces. These venues include TheWhitney Museum of American Art , theSan Francisco Museum of Modern Art , theSpoleto Festival USA , theWalker Art Center ,Ars Electronica ,Jacob's Pillow ,The Kitchen , andCreative Time . Phillips has also collaborated with theMerce Cunningham Dance Company, and her work was presented by theCleveland Orchestra ,IBM , and theWorld Financial Center . Mrs. Phillips was born in New Jersey in 1951. Phillips received a B.A fromBennington College in 1973. She lives inNew York City and is married to theavant-garde composer and musicianEarl Howard .External links
