fictional character in a spin-off episode of theBBC soap opera "EastEnders ". He was played by Alex King in flashbacks in the episode, "".Jimmy left school at the age of 15 and the following year went into the army. He was always close with his younger sister Pat and was strongly against her teenage affair with
Frank Butcher back in the 1950s. During army leave in 1958, he met and fell in love with Mo Porter, Pat's close friend. After a whirlwind romance, Jimmy proposed to Mo during a walk in the woods, and left the army to be with her. They married in 1959, and had two children, Billy and Jean. Jimmy became preoccupied with his family and Pat felt neglected by him; she blamed Mo for this and began to resent her. Drinking heavily, Pat turned to prostitution to fund her habit. Concerned, Jimmy diverted his attention back to Pat, leaving a neglected Mo to begin an affair with club owner Tony Cattani, who was also Pat'spimp . Their secret tryst was discovered by Pat, who promptly told Jimmy, but when Mo denied it, Jimmy disowned Pat.In the 1970s, Jimmy developed terminal cancer. Determined to make peace with Pat, Jimmy wrote her a letter saying that he wanted to make amends. He instructed Mo to post it, but she never did, and Jimmy died in 1979 without ever reconciling with Pat. Pat was not informed of Jimmy's death or invited to his funeral. In 2004, Mo and Pat attended the planting of a tree in Jimmy's memory to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his death.

Vivienne HobbsVivienne "Viv" Slater (née Porter, previously Harris) was a
fictional character in a special episode of theBBC soap opera "EastEnders ". She was played by Natasya Rush in the episode, "", during flashbacks. Prior to this, an older Viv was played byApril Martin in her daughter Kat's flashbacks during a near-death sequence in a 2001 episode of "EastEnders".Viv was the product of a
one-night stand betweenMo Harris and Stuart Mullins. Viv was brought up by Mo and her stepfather, Jimmy Harris; she had little contact with her father. After leaving school at 15, Viv metCharlie Slater at a dance. They began dating and got engaged. After losing her virginity to Charlie in November 1967, Viv became pregnant, aged 16. Mo, believing Charlie would not want to marry her, tried to force her to abort the unborn child; however, Charlie proved supportive and Viv gave birth to a daughter, Lynne in August 1968. Charlie and Viv married in December 1968 and Viv went on to have three more daughters: Kathleen (in 1970), Belinda (in 1975) and Maureen (in 1977). As the girls were growing up, Viv became a hard, bitter, cold woman. With the death of her stepfather Jimmy in 1979, she had no fatherly guidance and resented the fact that she had no sons. She favoured her oldest daughter Lynne, whilst Kat, Belinda and Little Mo all vied for Charlie's attentions, making Viv feel second best to her daughters. After catching her 13-year-old daughter Kat trying to run away in 1983, it emerged that Kat was pregnant having been raped by her uncle
Harry Slater . Viv kept this from Charlie, and sent Belinda and Little Mo away to live with Charlie's sister Violet in order to hide Kat's pregnancy. After Kat gave birth to her daughter Zoe on 1 February 1984, Viv took it upon herself to raise Zoe as her own daughter, telling everyone that she and Charlie were Zoe's parents. Viv doted on Zoe, but continued to treat her real daughters with contempt, and although they loyally stuck by her, they came to resent her harsh discipline. In 1999, Viv had a stroke and was nursed mostly by Charlie and Little Mo. She managed to make amends with all daughters before her death in late 1999, aged 48.=References=
