List of current champions in World Wrestling Entertainment

The following is a list of all current champions in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), as of CURRENTMONTHNAME CURRENTDAY, CURRENTYEAR. There are seven active singles championships: the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, ECW Championship, Intercontinental Championship, United States Championship, Divas Championship and Women's Championship; as well as two tag team championships: the World and WWE Tag Team Championships. There are eleven wrestlers that hold these championships on the company's three brands: Raw, SmackDown, and ECW. The list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of the winning bout.

At the top of WWE's championship hierarchy, the World Heavyweight Champion is Chris Jericho, Triple H is the current holder of the WWE Championship, and Matt Hardy is the current ECW Champion. Chris Jericho is the newest champion, in his first reign as World Heavyweight Champion. He replaced reigning champion CM Punk in the "Raw" Championship Scramble match at Unforgiven and went on to score the final fall of the match (also competing against Batista, John "Bradshaw" Layfield, Rey Mysterio and Kane). Matt Hardy is in his first reign, having won the ECW Title at Unforgiven 2008, also in a Championship Scramble against Mark Henry (champion), Finlay, The Miz and Chavo Guerrero. Triple H, who is in his seventh reign as WWE Champion (tying the record set by The Rock), defeated John Cena, John "Bradshaw" Layfield, and then-champion Randy Orton in a Fatal-Four Way match at Backlash.

Other champions in WWE include Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella, who is in his second reign (winning the title from Kofi Kingston at SummerSlam). Shelton Benjamin is the reigning WWE United States Champion, in his first reign as champion with the title victory coming at The Great American Bash. Beth Phoenix is presently in her second reign as Women's Champion, defeating Mickie James in a mixed tag match at SummerSlam (this match also included Kofi and Santino, which is how the Intercontinental title changed hands as both the Intercontinental and Women's titles were on the line, winner take all). The World Tag Team Champions are Cody Rhodes (a three time champion) and Ted DiBiase (in his second reign), having defeated Batista and John Cena on the August 11, 2008 edition of "Raw", to whom they lost the championships to a week before. Carlito and Primo Colon are the current holders of the WWE Tag Team Championship, both in their first reigns having won the titles on "SmackDown". Finally, Michelle McCool is the inaugural WWE Divas Champion, winning the title at The Great American Bash by defeating Natalya.
