The population was 1,861 at the 2010 census. It is home of the Orion Chargers. It is also the site for transmitters for many of the Quad Cities' television stations, including KLJB, WQAD-TV, WQPT and KQIN.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km2), all of it land.
