Matthew Schreuder (born 1971 in Canada) is a writer, who lives in Sydney, Australia. In 2006 his verse novel 'Muscle' was short listed and highly commended in the annual 'The Australian'/Vogel Literary Award. 'Muscle' has been commended for offering originality and a very contemporary story of astute social observations. Its characters are drawn from a youth subculture of muscle car street racers, set against a future Sydney backdrop of social unrest similar to the 2005 Cronulla riots.
Matthew Schreuder currently[when?] works at Sydney's Barker College as an English teacher.
