Singer Island is located in the east central region of
Palm Beach County, Florida Part of Rivera Beach, in theSouth Florida metropolitan area . The latitude of Singer Island is 26.784N. The longitude is -80.037W. It is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT). Named after the Singer Sewing Machine founder, Singer Island has parks, marinas, hiking and bike paths, as well as convert|47|mi|1 of sparkling white sand beaches [http://www.flickr.com/photos/imrananwar/tags/singerisland/] that has been considered one of the the top five beaches in Palm Beach County. Other attractions in the county include a drive-through safari, a zoo, science museum, boat rides, and citrus grove trolley rides.In addition, Singer Island is located convert|3|mi|1 to North Palm Beach, convert|5.4|mi|1 to West Palm Beach, convert|5.4|mi|1 to Palm Beach Gardens, convert|6.2|mi|1 to Juno Beach, and convert|10.6|mi|1 to Jupiter.
It is said that Singer Island was originally purchased by its namesake as a gift for his mistress, who reportedly did not like it. Today it is a picturesque, upscale and pristine living place for thousands of condo owners. The tallest of these is the 42-story "Tiara", which was severely damaged by several
