politician , member of the Democratic Party. Williams is best know for serving asLieutenant Governor of Florida from 1975 to 1979. He was the second Lt. Governor under GovernorReubin O'Donovan Askew (his second term). Williams remained in office and didn't serve the next term, because he was replaced by fellow democratWayne Mixson , who was running-mate ofBob Graham , who succeeded term-limited Askew.
