Clarotes is a genus of catfishes (order Siluriformes) of the family Claroteidae. It includes at least three species, Clarotes bidorsalis Pellegrin, 1938, Clarotes laticeps (Rüppell, 1829), and Clarotes macrocephalus Daget, 1954.[1]
C. tarabinii has uncertain taxonomic status. This species has been placed by itself in the genus Pardiglanis.[1] However, some sources have considered this genus to be a junior synonym of Clarotes.[2]
