John "Babe" Brown (born September 12, 1891) was an American football player and an Admiral in the United States Navy. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951. As a defender he helped the United States Naval Academy football team shut out seven opponents in 1913. During World War II, Brown rose to the rank of Admiral and played an important role in submarine operations in the South Pacific.
