Banu Sulaym ,Banu Huwazin and theBanu Ghatafan . The three main tribes remained in the Eastern part ofHejaz region until the7th century . They first fought theAnsar andQureish Muslims and converted toIslam after their defeat in theBattle of Hunayn . They were branched into several other clans in the time during theUmmayad Dynasty , which led theIslamic Caliphate after theRashidun Qais-Kalbid rivalry

After the Jews' betrayal of the Muslims in the
Battle of the Ahzab , the Jews ofKhaybar sensed the rising threat of the Muslims and established a joint defense agreement with the tribe ofGhatafan . The Muslims marched against the Jewish Fortress, so the Jews called upon their allies to come aid them against the Muslims. Approximately 4,000 Ghatafani fighters marched towards Khaybar.
