Hugo Costa

Hugo Alexandre Esteves Costa (born November 4, 1973 in Tramagal) is a Portuguese football central defender, who plays for Atromitos F.C..

A graduate of SL Benfica's youth system, Costa also played for five other clubs in Portugal, most notably Alverca FC (1996-2001) and Vitória Futebol Clube (2001-03), having an overseas experience with Germany's Rot-Weiss Oberhausen (second level, from January 2004 to 2005. In 2005-06, Costa joined União de Leiria, playing a further 16 matches in the first division. After Leiria's 2008 relegation, he moved to Greece's Atromitos F.C..
